Forex Scalping Indicators MT4

The Forex Scalping Indicators MT4 is very meant to help analyze short-term price fluctuations. It's one of the very extensively used by many active traders on the volume indicator mt4 market for the Meta Trader platform. For the long-term investors, the scalping indicator might help determine good points to enter or exit by helping in speculating on future price levels or trends through the proper evaluation of past patterns.

The Meta Trader 4 is really a Forex indicator developed utilizing the MQL4 programming language. It can be used to create manual Forex trading strategies. Meta Trader 4 indicators may be categorized into several groups - general purpose, multi- time period, divergence, statistical, and free foreign exchange indicators. These may be downloaded online which will give you a chance to test them before actual deployment on the Meta Trader platform. Additional alerts for the MT4 indicator may be put set up including email, sound, and pop-up alerts.

Choosing the Right Forex Scalping Indicators

There are several factors that need to be considered when selecting the correct Forex scalping indicators MT4 to use. For starters, divergence indicators are generally most accurate in flat Forex markets the same as other oscillators. They are therefore advisable to utilize with MT4 indicators when determining the possible direction the Forex market will go. There's also specific indicators that work best with MT4 for various purposes such as Forex scalping, intraday trading, and even for long-term Forex trading strategies.

Recommended is to judge various Forex indicators from different sources and try them out on the Meta Trader platform. Using several divergence indicators in conjunction with the indicators of Forex market tendencies might help clean up an enter signal and allow it to be possible to secure a great position in a trending market.

The Great things about Meta Trader 4 Indicators

One a valuable thing about these MT4 indicators is they include source code in MQ4 file format. This means you can break it down and manually analyze what it is supposed to complete, and make adjustments when necessary. Likewise, the Forex scalping indicators have already been tested by experienced professional Forex traders. The indicators aren't rehashed and they employ proven mathematical algorithms in the program. Additional alerts may also be available and can certainly be installed if required.

The Forex Scalping Strategy

A lot of trades work for only some minutes, less than a minute even in some instances, and the targets are normally from 5 to 15 pips. The concept is to obtain in and out with some profits wherever possible, and to immediately get free from bad positions to get ready for future trades. Experienced day traders who use a relatively longer time period use the same Forex scalping indicators MT4 within their trading strategy. The reason being it is user friendly and doesn't present a lot of complications which really is a a valuable thing as you don't intend to stay long in the trading market for long periods at a time. In this way, you will have a way to optimize gains while at the same time frame minimize your losses from losing trades.

A little confused about MT5, brokers, and the hedging rule.

Im a software dev and I like trading stocks so Ive decided to try my hand at forex. I did some research and it seemed like the US implemented the "hedging rule" as a result of 08. From what Ive read mql4 allows hedging, mql5 doesnt. However, none of the US brokers Ive found use mt5 and all the brokers that do deal with mt5 dont accept American clients.
Can anyone clear this up for me? Im not to sure where Im wrong in my research. It also seemed like mt4 might be phased out at some point so Id rather not learn that code base especially since Ive made a few bots in mql5 already.

MQL4 to TWS API

I have a script I wrote in MQL4 in order to automate my trading of forex and cfd's on MT4.
However I would like to move to futures on IBKR since forex/cfd brokers charge ridiculous swaps.
The great thing about MQL4 is it has all these neat functions and objects that make it quite easy and intuitive to write. I had gone through the TWS API about a year ago and I couldn't even figure out for e.g. how to get an X period moving average or how to cancel an order at the open of the next X period bar!
Is there any hope to port easily to TWS API using my existing MQL4 code, or would I need to go through the whole TWS API documentation and write all the functions and objects myself?
The alternative solution is to use MT4 with IBKR futures, but don't think IBKR supports MT4 for futures. Thanks.

Recommendation for Microlot broker (german customer)?

Hi, I wanna trade forex. or , currently, I mostly wanna build an expert advisor and if it is successfull in some demo account, I might wanna try it on some small account trading microlots.
but in either case, even to test the robot, i somewhere need an account at a broker.
and looking to the future plans of trading, I would love to open an account with a broker that offers microlots for forex.
can you recommend one?
I am not entirely sure if currently using MQL4 or MQL5, respectively Metatrader 4 or 5 is better.
I would prefer 4 (simply cause it's very well known and common) but am not sure if by now, MT4 isn't kind of "outdated" or having obvious disadvantages vs MT5.
so not sure about which one would be smarter to use.
soo anyways, what qwould be a broker that you can recommedn that allows microlots, or in general offers unusually small lot sizes?
also, thing is, I'm from germany, europe. so not every broker might be accepting me.
happy about any recommendations anyways :-)

MT4 Implementation of Non-included Indicators

Hey all, I’m very new to the community. As someone that’s a CS major in college right now, when a family member showed me his work in forex, I was immediately interested in the EA functionality aspect. I do have one question, however. I notice that the mql4.com/indicators list is missing indicators (obviously they won’t all be there) but is there a way to create my own? For instance, is there a way I could add a Keltner Channel indicator to my EA (which isn’t on the indicators list) by somehow accessing the code of the keltner channel indicator itself?
Any help would be greatly appreciated guys! thanks!

Has anyone tried Forex robot trading?

What Is a Forex Robot?
These days, it is becoming more and more common for traders to utilize modern methods of technology in their trading and there are many advantages to doing so.
Traders are increasingly likely to use trading systems or software that allows them to automate the trading process — thus reducing the problems of emotional attachment to a trade or a lack of trading discipline. A Forex robot does exactly that and one of the most popular ways to use one is via the MetaTrader 4 platform.
The MetaTrader 4 platform offers a complete solution to a trader’s needs, consisting of charts, news feeds, and more. And, by coding in the native MQL4 programming language, it is also possible to write custom built indicators or even trading strategies — also known as expert advisors.
Free Ex4 to Mq4 decompiler!! Top EA List: https://best-forex-trading-robots.com/
Expert Advisors
An expert advisor (EA) is another name for a Forex robot, one that has been developed to be used on the MetaTrader 4 platform. Since it can be custom built, an expert advisor can be designed to implement any trading strategy or risk management system so long as the designer knows how to code it into the program.
For example, a trader may design an EA to open positions in the market at a certain size after a moving average crossover.
Has anyone tried Forex robot trading? Best-forex-robots
Benefits
The main advantage of using a Forex robot is that it takes the emotion out of trading, which if not addressed, can be a big barrier to many traders. Fear, greed, and stress can build up in manual trading all too easily, leading a trader to lose money and get frustrated with the game.
A robot on the other hand, will implement the chosen strategy flawlessly every time and with a high degree of accuracy. It will also make difficult risk management calculations in the blink of an eye, much faster than a human trader. Not only that, but robots can be designed to trade around the clock and on different markets at once, meaning that you need not have to sit in front of your screen all day and all night.
In short, a Forex robot can take much of the hard work out of trading — that hard work is done beforehand — developing and testing the trading idea.
Limitations
Of course, there are no shortcuts to making money on the Forex markets and working with a Forex robot brings with it its own inherent limitations.
For one thing, Forex markets are fiercely competitive and coming up with a robot that is able to beat the market is a notoriously difficult thing to do.
Indeed, it is not enough to design a robot that works over a couple of weeks data, the robot must work over several months, if not years, of historical data and undergo rigorous statistical testing to prove that it works. Because if a trader cannot be confident that the robot works, they will more than likely abandon it when times get tough.

Traders who make money only have better risk management ?

Hey
Just a quick thought about forex.
I've been trading forex manually and with EAs on demo + real (very small account) for something like 2/3 years in and out and I've been much more serious about it for the last couple of months.
I've tried hundreds of strategies and made my owns with python and mql4 with both machine learning and standard imperative programming but at the end the only parameter we can really master is the risk.
After writing thousands of lines of code and making my cpu red hot I strongly think that all indicators are just there to make a confirmation bias and traders who make money only have a better risk management (and stress management).
What's your thought about it ? Am I right/wrong ? why ?
People who have made EAs, is it working for you on the long run ?

What is the difference between the MT4 and MT5 forex trading platforms?

I actually struggled to understand and to forecast the signals in Forex. I Then identified a software program called Forex Profiter which helped me to determine the signals, so that I received more profit using Fx in a smart way. It's not a self-promotion, I cannot stop myself from detailing it's uses because of the profit I obtained from forex profiter. If you wish to learn more about MT5 indicators. Now I'll explain a better solution for your doubts
Metatrader 5 uses a programming language called MQL5 as opposed to the MQL4 used by Metatrader 4. The exciting thing about MQL5 is that it allows “black box” programming which, in a nutshell, means that it is easier to program and so will logically be a better framework for users and developers of trading robots and other expert advisors.
However, MetaQuotes expanded this capability into MQL4 in 2014, so it is not a difference between the platforms any more, although there is a likelihood that if the language is upgraded at some time in the future, MetaQuotes will not extend any upgrades into MQL4 as well as MQL5
It should be noted that there is no backwards compatibility. Programs written for Metatrader 4 cannot run on Metatrader 5. This can be a serious drawback for traders who were wishing to “upgrade”, and is a key reason why such a change shouldn’t be seen as an upgrade.
It is true that Metatrader 5 retains two key programming-related advantages over Metatrader 4. Firstly, its back testing functions where you can test programmed trading strategies execute at a much faster speed, which is a feature that can save you a lot of time if you are the kind of trader who needs to run a large number of back tests. It also allows simultaneous multi-currency pair back testing. Together this can speed up back testing procedures immeasurably.

My first post ever gets to be on this subreddit :)

TLDR: Need books to get started in algo trading. If possible, I would also like to automate my chart mark ups on MT4 and what language would that require?
Hi guys,
I’m a noob who has no knowledge of algo trading at all but just last month started learning python and like to believe I have the fundamentals down. I also got into forex about 5 months back, paper trading ( also blowing one account before getting back to paper trading) and reading books on technical and fundamental analysis. I want to put both of those skills and my passion for math to use and start learning algo trading but don’t know how to get started
The first project that came to mind was I realized I do a lot of repetitive chart mark ups, mostly on MT4 and sometimes on trading view, that I would like to automate. And if I can automate that, could I use it on the mobile or iPad app for MT4? Not sure if that requires a language other than python for MT4 or if this is even the right sub.
If the project above does not apply to this sub, I would still like to know what books, articles, videos you guys recommend on getting started. Thank you for any and all feedback!

Question on testing process when building a new algo/strategy

Just a quick question for those that have gone through this before - I think I have finished coding a basic starting point for my algo, and I now want to start forward testing. How do you all formally run through the testing process?
For a bit of background, I am from a non-coding background, currently work in investment. I only picked up coding recently and starting building something in MQL4 for forex trading (I chose forex mostly due to the hassle around clearance and PAD from my employer on other asset types such as equity, CFDs or options).
My thinking so far is;
  1. Run the algo on a number of pairs (say 5 or so) over a period of time and review the output to ensure that the trade entries, exits and signals that it's generating tie back to my original idea/thesis.
  2. Forward test on a demo account for period of time (say 1-3 months), again reviewing the outcome of trades and ensuring it still ties back to my original idea/thesis and that there are no anomalies.
  3. Commit a very small amount of money (say $100) to test it out. This is possible in forex with retail brokers using Metatrader and the small lot/trade sizes. Continue to monitoreview trading outputs and ensure they tie back to original idea/thesis.
  4. From here, if and only if it is profitable, consider investing more money into the account and spending more time looking for ways to optimise the algo.
Does this sound ridiculous, or am I on the right path? Just wanted to get an idea from those who are more experienced and been through this before.
Thanks in advanced to anyone that is able to provide some valueable insight.

Programmer wanting to enter Forex

So I'd like to get into AutoTrading and just writing my own bot or whatever it's called (EA?). This is non-serious, so I'm just looking to experiment with, say, $200. I was wondering where I should start, as in:
- do I have to join one of those large organisations or can I be independent
- what program do I need to use
- what languages are supported
- how real time are "real time" data. Like if I sell, when the rate is good, will it take 20s to process that sale, which then means that the rate will have changed?

Anyone doing automated trading? I really need a piece of advice

Hello everyone!
At the beginning I would like to tell something about how I came here.
I'm 23 years old software developer and I have to admit, that I really like my job, at least for now. It's hard to predict what will happen in next few years, but I think that life is just too short to spend half of it in a 9-5 job living frugal and then spend most of my savings to build a house of my dreams when I'll be about 50 years old and blow my retirement (in my country there is no such thing like 401k, it looks more like a money stealing organization, so I count on myself). This is not how I want to live and it's my main motivation why I started learning to trade.
So I started learning Forex, because of it's liquidity and high leverage. I know it' not the easiest market to undestand, but who said it's going to be easy?
I learned the basics and how it works and I also learned that trading on lower time frames is harder, but it can be much more rewarding. That's what I was looking for.
At the first I was fascinated by price action trading. The concept that I need just a price chart and no indicators sounds cool. But there are some disadvantages:
- There is a really strong human factor. When looking at the chart, someone will say that he sees a buy oportunity and another one that it's clearly short. Chart can be interpreted in many ways when we trade with price action.
- Most volatile periods are when I'm at work, so it's hard for me to practice
I know that price action trading can be very profitable, but I think it just doesn't fit me.
I wondered if I could connect my programming skills with trading and started to learn about algorithmic trading, but there isn't as much resources as in manual trading.
I'm not interested in HFT (High Frequency Trending). It's probably even not possible to make a profitable HFT robot for a normal person without super fast internet and close connection to source. I would like to make a trend catcher for lower time frames that would make just a few trades a day. I learned some mql4, made my first trading robot (not very effective), wrote some indicators to notice some correlations and I'm just playing a bit right now.
But I think that it's time to pause and think about it. Now it's time for my questions (finally).
Basically, there are two main opinions:
  1. To write a profitable robot, you need to know as much as possible about how markets work, how they work together on a very deep level. Learn and read everything and maybe in a few years you will know enough to gain profit from it.
  2. Most profitable robots are as simple as possible. Just stick to technical analysis, risk management, probability etc.

What' your opinion about that? And more importantly, is it worth to give it a shot? Sometimes I think that I just waste my time, because I know I can make a lot of money as a software developer and I should focus to improve myself in that particular thing. But it was never about money. It's all about freedom. I want to travel, I want to drive cars most people can't afford (not to show off, I just love driving) and build a house without spending savings of my life on it.
I will appreciate any feedback :)
